I applied high contrast blue and red filters to the photo in Photoshop, then adjusted levels to darken the sky to black and blow out the highlights in the white photo.

I would recommend the Et Pumpkin tour company. You can do a day trip (which is what I did) or spend one or two nights on a boat. Ocean Tours is also a reputable company.

We are going to Hanio next month (may 09) and will do a tour of Halong Bay. Thanks for the pics, they are very clear. We are staying at The Old Quarter Hotel, can you recommend a tour? We were just planning a day tour.
